In the presence of his majesty the Supramonte

The bike tour through the Orgosolo countryside is an immersion into Sardinia’s most authentic rural life. A significant portion of the route winds along the foothills of the Supramonte, a rugged mountain range that shapes a landscape of contrasts where the white of the limestone highlights the silver of the olive groves and the emerald green of the vineyards.

From Orgosolo, you’ll descend along the old road to Oliena, starting with a long downhill stretch into the valley. From there, a steady climb leads to the conquering of the pass, followed by another descent, and finally a gently sloping section towards Oliena.

You can then continue by crossing the Locoe valley along the main road or choose the country roads that lead to vineyards and vegetable gardens, slowly ascending back towards the village, nestled on the hillside.

This excursion is approximately 56 km long with an elevation gain of 1000 meters, suitable for those familiar with cycling and looking for a varied, less-traveled route. The duration depends on the type of bike and level of training.
