Parish Church of Saint Peter the Apostle

OVERVIEW

Located in the lower part of the village, the Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle is one of the most important places of worship in the town. Its origins date back to the 14th century, although the building has undergone numerous modifications over time that have partially altered its original appearance. The façade is sober and linear, reflecting Renaissance style with a gabled roof that extends its horizontal composition. The architectural elements blend in a balanced way, without excessive decoration, maintaining a simple yet harmonious tone. At the back, the bell tower rises, visible from many points in the village. The current structure results from significant 19th-century renovations but still preserves the original 15th-century bell tower, one of the oldest features of the church. The parish is closely linked to the memory of Blessed Antonia Mesina, a figure deeply rooted in the spirituality of the area. It was here that she received baptism, confirmation, and her first communion, important milestones in her journey of faith.
